KIEV, April 9 (Xinhua) -- Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said Kiev has developed its position on the proposed minerals agreement with the United States and has outlined its vision for the text, the Ukrinform news agency reported Tuesday.
Sybiha stated that Ukraine is in the process of finalizing its negotiating team, which will soon travel to Washington to discuss the draft agreement presented by the United States, according to Ukrinform.
He emphasized that it is essential for Ukraine that the agreement be mutually beneficial, align with the interests of both parties, and remain consistent with Ukraine's commitment to European integration, said the news agency.
In February, the Ukrainian government approved a deal with the United States, which envisages a joint investment fund to be financed with future revenues from Ukraine's mineral resources.
The deal was set to be inked on Feb. 28 in Washington. But its signing was postponed after a public spat between visiting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House.
On March 28, Ukraine received a revised text of the minerals agreement from the United States. Enditem
