SANAA, April 9 (Xinhua) -- Yemen's Houthi spokesperson Yahya Sarea said Wednesday that the group had launched fresh attacks at a "military target" in Tel Aviv, and the USS Harry S. Truman north of the Red Sea.
In a statement aired by Houthi-run al-Masirah TV, Sarea added that the group also targeted several U.S. military vessels near and around the aircraft carrier Truman, without specifying the timing of the operations.
He said several drones were used in both operations.
He noted that the Houthis will continue to "prevent Israeli navigation in the Red and Arabian Seas," and "confront the American aggression ... until the aggression stops and the siege on Gaza is lifted."
Earlier on Wednesday, the group claimed that it shot down the 18th U.S. MQ-9 drone since October 2023 over Yemen's northern province of Al-Jawf.
The U.S. military has yet to comment on the attacks.
On Tuesday late night, the U.S. military conducted airstrikes against Houthi targets, killing eight people, including a pregnant woman, and wounding 16, including children, in the Red Sea port city of Hodeidah, according to local health authorities and residents. Enditem
