JERUSALEM -- Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said on Wednesday that the population of the Gaza Strip is being evacuated from the fighting zones, with many areas in the enclave being seized and annexed to Israel's security zones.

Katz made these remarks during a tour with senior commanders of the 12-km "Morag Corridor," a route being paved by the Israel Defense Forces in southern Gaza to separate Rafah and Khan Younis, according to a statement from his office. (Israel-Gaza Territory-Seizure)

SANAA -- Yemen's Houthi spokesperson Yahya Sarea said Wednesday that the group had launched fresh attacks at a "military target" in Tel Aviv, and the USS Harry S. Truman north of the Red Sea.

In a statement aired by Houthi-run al-Masirah TV, Sarea added that the group also targeted several U.S. military vessels near and around the aircraft carrier Truman, without specifying the timing of the operations. (Yemen-Houthis-US-Attacks)

GAZA -- At least 29 Palestinians were killed and more than 50 others injured on Wednesday in an Israeli airstrike that hit a residential block in the Shuja'iyya neighborhood, east of Gaza City, Hamas said in a statement.

TEHRAN -- Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Wednesday that under the guidelines of the country's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, the upcoming negotiations with the United States in Oman will be held indirectly.

He made the remarks at a ceremony to mark the National Nuclear Technology Day, which falls on April 9, while elaborating on the talks between Iran's Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and U.S. Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff on Tehran's nuclear program to be held in Oman on Saturday, according to a statement published on the website of his office.
