KABUL, April 10 (Xinhua) -- At least three people were killed and another injured as a landslide struck a residential house in eastern Afghanistan's Kunar province, a local official said on Thursday.
The disaster triggered by heavy rain buried a residential house in Gulsalak area of the province's Chapadara district, killing at least three children and injuring another, Mawlawi Habibullah Zubair, district head, told Xinhua.
The victims were members of the same family, said the official, adding that a rescue team and local officials have been dispatched to assist the affected family.
Some parts of Afghanistan, including Kunar and Badakhshan provinces, have been receiving rain and snowfall since Wednesday. Meanwhile, Afghanistan's meteorological department has predicted snowfall, heavy rain, and flash floods in 13 out of the country's 34 provinces in the following days. Enditem
