KATHMANDU, April 10 (Xinhua) -- Nepal has permitted 381 climbers from 57 countries and regions to scale 15 mountains inside the country during the spring climbing season, the Department of Tourism said on Thursday.

Among the climbers which include 84 women, 134 were allowed to summit the 8,848.86-meter-high Mount Qomolangma, the world's tallest peak which straddles Nepal and China.

Sixty-six permits have been issued for Mount Annapurna I, the tenth highest at 8,091 meters.

Nepal has taken 1.79 million U.S. dollars in royalty by issuing permits for the spring climbing season, which begins in April and runs through May. Enditem
