JAKARTA, April 11 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's banking credit in February increased by 10.3 percent year-on-year to 7.825 trillion rupiahs, according to the country's Financial Services Authority (OJK) on Friday.

The growth rate was higher than the annual banking lending expansion recorded in January.

The rise in banking credit during February was primarily driven by investment, consumption, and working capital loans, which grew by 14.62 percent, 10.31 percent, and 7.66 percent year-on-year, respectively.

"The performance of banking sector intermediation remains relatively stable, with a maintained risk profile. In February, banking credit continued to show double-digit growth at 10.3 percent year-on-year," said Dian Ediana Rae, chief executive of banking supervision at the OJK, during a press conference.

He noted that the non-performing loan ratio in February improved by 13 basis points to 2.22 percent compared to the same period last year.

Dian added that Indonesia's banking sector resilience remains strong, providing a buffer against global uncertainties.

In February, the capital adequacy ratio of banks stood at a high level of 26.98 percent, slightly down from 27.01 percent in the previous month, Dian said. Enditem
