India's forex reserves up to 676.268 bln USD

NEW DELHI, April 11 (Xinhua) -- India's foreign exchange (forex) reserves went up by 10.872 billion U.S. dollars to 676.268 billion dollars during the week ended April 4, the weekly bulletin released by the country's central bank showed on Friday.

This was the fifth consecutive week when India's forex reserves rose.

According to the Reserve Bank of India, the major component of the forex reserves was foreign currency assets, which rose by 9.074 billion dollars to 574.088 billion dollars, while gold reserves rose by 1.567 billion dollars to 79.360 billion dollars.

Special drawing rights rose by 186 million dollars to 18.362 billion dollars. India's position in the International Monetary Fund was up by 46 million dollars to 4.459 billion U.S. dollars, data showed. Enditem
