Nearly 200 people in southern Mongolia hospitalized due to suspected food poisoning

ULAN BATOR, April 11 (Xinhua) -- At least 197 people were hospitalized in the southern Mongolian province of Umnugovi over suspected food poisoning, the country's National Center for Communicable Diseases (NCCD) said Friday.

Miners aged between 20 and 48 have experienced symptoms such as fever, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea after having meals at a mine cafeteria in the province on Wednesday, Nyam Suvdmaa, head of the Early Warning and Response Unit of the NCCD, told a daily press conference.

Of the total, 105 were being treated at the country's National Center for Communicable Diseases, while some have been given medication for home treatment, she added. Enditem
