KAMPALA -- Uganda's Ministry of Health said Friday that an anthrax outbreak in the northeastern and western regions of the country has left three people dead and several others hospitalized.
The ministry noted in a health situation update report that two deaths, one laboratory-confirmed case and another suspected patient, were identified in the western Ugandan district of Buhweju, with 11 others suspected to have the disease in the district. (Uganda-Kampala-Anthrax)

ULAN BATOR -- At least 197 people were hospitalized in the southern Mongolian province of Umnugovi over suspected food poisoning, the country's National Center for Communicable Diseases (NCCD) said Friday.
Miners aged between 20 and 48 have experienced symptoms such as fever, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea after having meals at a mine cafeteria in the province on Wednesday, Nyam Suvdmaa, head of the Early Warning and Response Unit of the NCCD, told a daily press conference. (Mongolia-Food Poisoning)

ANKARA -- Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan called Friday for an immediate cessation of Israeli military operations, emphasizing the necessity of a permanent ceasefire and the reconstruction of Gaza.

PARIS -- French President Emmanuel Macron warned on Friday that U.S. President Donald Trump's 90-day pause on his so-called "reciprocal" tariffs remains "fragile."
On his official X account, Macron said that Trump's tariff pause is a "signal" and opens doors to negotiation, but it remains fragile as the 25-percent tariffs on Europe's steel, aluminum, and automobiles and the 10-percent tariffs on all other products are still in place.
