BUENOS AIRES, April 11 (Xinhua) -- Substitute Fabrizio Sartori scored in the 84th minute as Independiente Rivadavia salvaged a 1-1 draw at Banfield in Argentina's Primera Division on Friday.

Santiago Lopez put the hosts ahead in the 12th minute by latching onto a headed clearance and smashing home a first-time volley from the edge of the 18-yard box.

Sartori, a 76th-minute substitute for Thomas Ortega, equalized with a close-range effort that beat goalkeeper Facundo Sanguinetti at his near post following Sebastian Villa's through ball.

Banfield was reduced to 10-men late in stoppage time when Joaquin Pombo was shown a second yellow card for a bad challenge on Ivan Villalba.

The result leaves Independiente Rivadavia seventh in the 15-team Group A standings with 18 points, eight clear of 14th-placed Banfield.

In Friday's only other Argentine Primera Division fixture, Newell's Old Boys was held to a goalless home draw by Argentinos Juniors. Enditem
