TEHRAN/MUSCAT -- Iran and the United States will hold the second round of negotiations on April 19 after the two sides concluded their "indirect" talks on Saturday in the Omani capital of Muscat in a "constructive" atmosphere, according to the Iranian Foreign Ministry.

The two-and-a-half-hour talks between Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and U.S. Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff centered on Tehran's nuclear issue and sanctions relief, said the ministry in a statement. (Iran-U.S.-Talks)

KHARTOUM -- More than 114 civilians were killed in attacks by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on two displacement camps over the past two days in El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur State in western Sudan, a local official announced on Saturday.

"More than 100 civilians were killed as a result of the brutal attack launched by the RSF militia on the Zamzam displacement camp yesterday (Friday), with dozens injured," Ibrahim Khatir, director general of North Darfur State's health authority, told Xinhua. (Sudan-Civil War-Casualty)

JERUSALEM -- The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced in a statement on Saturday that it had completed the encirclement of the southern Gaza Strip city of Rafah.

According to the statement, an IDF armored division carried out the encirclement by completing the establishment of the "Morag Corridor," a route in southern Gaza intended to separate Rafah and Khan Younis. (Israel-Rafah-Encirclement)

GAZA -- Hamas said on Saturday that it is positive about any Gaza ceasefire proposal that guarantees a permanent ceasefire and a complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip.
