JERUSALEM -- The Israeli military said Monday it launched a new wave of strikes across the Gaza Strip, hitting about 35 targets, while Gaza health authorities said the death toll from renewed Israeli attacks had reached 1,613.

Among the sites hit were a weapons manufacturing facility in southern Gaza and a launch site containing rocket launchers aimed at Israeli territory, the military said in a statement. (Israel-Gaza-Strikes)

KIEV -- The death toll from a Russian ballistic missile attack on Ukraine's northeastern city of Sumy has risen to 34, while 117 people were injured, according to a statement from Ukraine's State Service for Emergencies.

ISTANBUL -- Türkiye announced on Monday that police have seized over 800 kg of drugs and detained seven suspects in an operation in Istanbul.

SEOUL -- South Korea's ousted President Yoon Suk-yeol attended his first criminal trial on Monday on insurrection charges.
