MANILA, April 15 (Xinhua) -- At least one dead and some crew members remained trapped after a dredging vessel capsized in waters off Occidental Mindoro province in the Philippines on Tuesday afternoon, authorities and witnesses said.
The regional office of the Philippine Coast Guard confirmed the accident, which reportedly happened at around 5 p.m. local time in waters off Rizal town.
It said that rescuers saved some crew members, but some remained trapped in the boat. Search and rescue were ongoing.
Footage uploaded on social media by a fisherman who witnessed the accident showed the vessel flipped on its side before capsizing.
Local media reported that Occidental Mindoro Governor Eduardo Gadiano confirmed that at least one person died in the accident and three were rescued.
