DHAKA, April 16 (Xinhua) -- The Bangladeshi interim government will constitute a powerful trade negotiating body to overcome trade related challenges as the country is set to graduate from the Least Developed Country (LDC) status next year.

Bangladeshi Chief Adviser's Special Assistant Anisuzzaman Chowdhury made the announcement at a press conference Tuesday, saying "the trade negotiating body, headed by a senior official of the government, will be constituted soon."

Following Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus's meeting with the experts on the LDC graduation on Tuesday, Chowdhury said the meeting discussed the preparation of Bangladesh in details on graduation from the LDC status.

Apart from this, he said a committee is being formed involving experts and representatives from all sectors to monitor emerging market trends and opportunities.

According to the official, a list has been made on the challenges Bangladesh is likely to face after LDC graduation.

He said the government is taking all necessary measures to mobilize domestic resources and adopting policy measures to face possible challenges to emerge after the graduation.

Bangladesh is set to graduate from the LDC category to a developing nation in November 2026. Enditem
