Tunisian PM, Egyptian minister meet on economic cooperation

TUNIS, April 16 (Xinhua) -- Tunisian Prime Minister Sarra Zaafrani Zenzri met here on Wednesday with Egyptian Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan El Khatib to explore ways to deepen bilateral economic cooperation and trade exchanges.

The meeting, held on the sidelines of the sixth session of the Tunisian-Egyptian Joint Trade and Industrial Committee in Tunis, also saw the presence of Tunisian Minister of Trade and Export Development Samir Abid and Egypt's Ambassador to Tunisia Bassem Yahya Hassan, according to a statement by the Tunisian government published on Facebook.

During the meeting, Zenzri highlighted the momentum in bilateral relations and called for thorough preparations for upcoming events, particularly the 18th session of the Tunisian-Egyptian Joint High Committee to be held in Cairo, read the statement.

She also stressed the need for practical and swift solutions to current challenges in order to expand trade relations, said the statement.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral economic cooperation and investment, with an aim to build a partnership based on mutual interests and enhanced access to African markets through preferential trade advantages, read the statement. Enditem
