JERUSALEM -- Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said on Wednesday that Israel has adopted a policy of blocking humanitarian aid to Gaza to undermine Hamas' control over the population.

In a statement a day after a field visit to Gaza with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and senior military commanders, Katz outlined Israel's broader war strategy, which he said aims to secure the release of hostages and ultimately defeat Hamas. (Israel-Gaza-Aid Blockade)

ADEN, Yemen -- The United States has carried out extensive airstrikes against Houthi targets across Yemen on Wednesday.

U.S. aircraft reportedly struck more than 50 Houthi sites across multiple provinces in the north, center and west of Yemen, according to reports by Houthi-run al-Masirah TV. (Yemen-U.S.-Attacks)

GAZA -- At least 19 Palestinians were killed on Wednesday in Israeli attacks on various areas of the Gaza Strip, according to Gaza's Civil Defense.

Civil Defense spokesperson Mahmoud Basal told Xinhua that 10 people, including children and women, were killed in an Israeli airstrike that targeted the home of the Hassouna family in the al-Tuffah neighborhood, northeast of Gaza City. (Gaza Strip-Israeli Attack-Casualty)

SANAA -- At least one person was killed and several others wounded when fresh U.S. airstrikes targeted a residential neighborhood and several other localities in Yemen's capital Sanaa on Wednesday night, Houthi-run health authorities said in a statement.
