PHNOM PENH -- Chinese President Xi Jinping said here Thursday that building a China-Cambodia community with a shared future is a choice of history and the people.
Xi made the remarks when meeting with Cambodian People's Party President and Senate President Samdech Techo Hun Sen.
China and Cambodia are not only friendly neighbors but also ironclad friends, he said, noting that both countries are currently at a critical stage of national development. (China-Cambodia-Ties)

FRANKFURT -- The European Central Bank (ECB) on Thursday decided to cut key interest rates for the seventh time since June 2024, in response to the negative impact of erratic U.S. tariffs on economic growth across the eurozone.
Following the ECB's adjustment, the deposit facility rate and the interest rate on the main refinancing operations will drop to 2.25 percent and 2.4 percent, respectively, while the marginal lending facility rate will be reduced to 2.65 percent. (Europe-Key Interest Rates)

GAZA -- Hamas said on Thursday evening that it is ready to immediately begin negotiations on a deal to swap all Israeli hostages with an agreed-upon number of Palestinian prisoners, in a bid to completely stop the Gaza war.
This is "in exchange for a complete cessation of the war against our people, a full (Israeli) withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, the start of reconstruction, and the end of the (Israeli) siege," Khalil Al-Hayya, head of Hamas in Gaza, said in a video speech. (Gaza-Hamas-Ceasefire Deal)

SANAA -- U.S. airstrikes on Yemeni fuel port of Ras Isa on Thursday have killed 17 people and injured dozens more, Houthi-run al-Masirah TV reported Friday.
It said the victims were workers and employees of the port.
