ISTANBUL, April 18 (Xinhua) -- The Colors of the World Fair in Istanbul has showcased the rich and unique cultural identities of around 20 countries through traditional performances, handcrafted artworks, culinary delights, and immersive exhibits.

Running from Friday to Sunday, the fair features national pavilions from countries including China, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Morocco, India, Indonesia, and Serbia.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Tayfun Sancar, head of TUROYD -- an association of hotels and tour operators in Türkiye and one of the event sponsors -- said the fair is becoming Istanbul's most vibrant event, which provides an opportunity to "connect, promote, and share common cultures."

During the event, China, one of the most prominent participants, offered visitors a glimpse of its heritage through traditional music and dance performances and a taste of authentic Chinese cuisine that reflects the country's rich culinary traditions.

Launched in 2022 in Istanbul, the expo aims to promote cultural exchange and sustainable tourism growth by highlighting the rich cultural identities of participating countries. It also provides participants with new business and networking opportunities. Enditem
