KABUL, April 25 (Xinhua) -- The Afghan interim government's Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development has launched 69 essential development projects worth more than 969,000 U.S. dollars in eastern Afghanistan's Paktika province, the ministry said in a statement late Thursday.
The projects, which include building bridges, culverts, protective walls, check dams, rural roads, and irrigation canals, would be implemented in the Waza Khwa district of the province, the statement added.
In an identical step, the administration initiated 85 development projects in the fields of agriculture, roads, and culverts in the eastern Nangarhar province a couple of days ago.
In efforts to rebuild Afghanistan, the Afghan interim government has launched a series of development and infrastructure projects, including dams, water canals, highways, roads, and solar power systems, since taking over power three and a half years ago. Enditem
