Herve Lamizana led the Shandong Flaming Bulls to a 12-2 run down
the stretch to see off Beijing Ducks 98-95 Wednesday in a 20th
round match of the Chinese Basketball Association league (CBA).
Trailing 82-71 at the start of the fourth quarter, Shandong
seemed in a desperate position but unleashed their pair of foreign
players, Lamizana and Mack Tuck, who usurped the lead on 96-93 with
less than a minute to go.
Point guard Zhang Yunsong closed the gap 96-95 for Beijing with
a layup with 22 seconds on the clock. However, Lou Yandong buried
both his free-throws to secure the Shandong win.
Lamizana had 22 points and 14 rebounds while Tuck, who was
warned on Wednesday for a brawl with Changchun spectators in the
last round on Sunday, added 13 points and seven rebounds for
Shandong.
Chen Lei led Beijing with 24 points as he shot 6-out-of-8 on
3-pointers.
