A late goal from Ji Ting in injury time helped the Chinese national women's team beat the visiting FIFA Women's World Stars team 3-2 in a friendly match in Wuhan on Saturday.

The gala match between the Chinese and the women's world stars was played on the eve of the draw for the Women's World Cup, which will be played in China in September.

The star-studded international team opened their account after just four minutes of play, through a header from Conny Pohlers of Germany.

The Chinese side snatched an equalizer back after ten minutes when Liu Sa converted a corner kick pass from Zhou Gaoping.

Hosts China ignited their audience when striker Han Duan headed the ball into the net in the 21st minute, leading the match 2-1.

China missed several chances to widen their advantage, while Aussie defender Cheryl Salisbury managed a header before the break, to make it 2-2.

The second half was hindered by the unexpected injury of Chinese player Zhou Gaoping. The fullback was hit on the face and carried off with blood visibly gushing from the wound.

The match seemed to end at a 2-all tie, when Chinese substitute, Ji Ting, took an accurate low shot one minute before the final whistle.

Ji netted the last-gasp winner when she took a timely follow-up to beat English keeper Rachel Brown, thus sealing victory for China.
