A volume of painting and calligraphy by 300 Chinese generals was
launched in Beijing on Wednesday to mark the 80th anniversary of
the People's Liberation Army (PLA).
The book titled "Lofty Great Wall" features many works depicting
the Great Wall, a symbol of China's national security.
The book was a collector's item, said Ma Shukuan, chief
editor.
300 senior officers and PLA veterans attended the launch.
A series of exhibitions were also held in the capital as part of
the big celebration, showcasing the development of the army.
An exhibition on the PLA's history at Beijing's Military Museum
has attracted one million visitors since its opening in
mid-July.
