First time director Jay Chou's big screen debut "Secret" so far
has wrapped up 26 million RMB, or about 3.4 million USD, in box
office revenue. To thank his fans for their strong support, the pop
king turned actor held a reward party in Beijing on Thursday.
Competing with an array of Hollywood blockbusters, such as
"Transformers", the teenage romance story was not eclipsed for its
good performance in box office. Even Jay Chou himself was
astonished by the results, saying that he had only expected about
10 million RMB, about 1.3 million USD.
With seven best-selling albums, it's actually not that
unexpected that Chou's directorial debut can attract so many
fans.
To reward his hard-core fans, Jay Chou showed the presents he
had prepared for them during the party, which were school uniforms
the lead actors had worn in the film.
