China takes 1st medal in UCI Track Cycling World Cup Beijing

Li Wenhao won bronze in men's one kilometer time trial to earn host first medal in 2007 UCI Track Cycling World Cup Beijing on Saturday.

Francois Pervis of France took gold with a result of one minutes 2.029 seconds. Li Wenhao clocked one minute 3.702 second, losing to silver medalist Yevgen Bolibrukh of Ukraine who finished at one minute 2.943 seconds.

Li Wenhao finished second in last week's Sydney World Cup.

Winner in Sydney, Michael D'Almeida of France did not take part in Beijing World Cup, for he is preparing for Los Angeles World Cup.

For men's one kilometer time trial was no longer an Olympic discipline, Chris Hoy, reigning world champion and winner in Athens 2004 changed to Keirin.
