The miniature of the new headquarters for China Central Television captures much of the attention. Lauren Parker, curator of the exhibition, says the new CCTV building is regarded not only as symbolic of modern Beijing, it's considered an achievement in architectural design for China.
Lauren Marker, curator, said, "This section of the show is called 'Beijing Future City', focusing on architecture and city-planning. The exhibition is focusing on the Olympic projects, but also projects like China Central Television, which is a major architectural icon. It's transforming Beijing as a city as well, as it's transforming Beijing's skyline."

On display are latest design works ranging from urban construction, fashion trends, and even aircraft. The designs were chosen from three representative cities of China, Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen. The exhibition is the largest to focus on Chinese contemporary design ever staged in London.
Lauren Marker said, "I think that mix between the experimental and entrepreneur, between the international and the local, I think that's something really interesting about Chinese design at the moment."
Design culture in China is gaining more and more international stature, as Chinese designers of different generations do their bit to introduce China to the rest of the world.
