Zhuhai Chimelong has highest 2015 visitor arrival

The Chimelong Group is among the top ten groups and the Zhuhai Hengqin Chimelong Ocean Kingdom is in the global top 25 amusement or theme park list, according to the recent 2015 global theme park tourist data report jointly released by the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA), an authoritative research agency of global theme parks, and the US Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Operations, Maintenance Group (AECOM).

According to the report, a total of four Chinese theme park groups rank among the top ten, including the Shenzhen Overseas Town Theme Park with 30.18 million passengers, Chimelong Group with 23.587 million passengers, Shenzhen Fantawild with 23.093 million passengers and Hangzhou Songcheng Worldland with 22.338 million passengers, with an increase of 7.8 percent, 26.4 percent, 77.4 percent and 53.4 percent year on year, respectively.

The report shows that the 2015 global top 10 groups had a total of 420 million visitor arrivals, with the tourist reception of each group having an average increase of 7.2 percent.

Also, the global top 25 amusement or theme parks' visitor arrivals totaled 235.6 million in 2015, an increase of 5.4 percent on a year-on-year basis. Five Chinese theme parks and resorts are on the list, covering the Zhuhai Hengqin Chimelong Ocean Kingdom, Hong Kong Ocean Park, Hangzhou Songcheng Resort, Hong Kong Disneyland and Lijiang Songcheng Resort.

It's understood that the Zhuhai Hengqin Chimelong Ocean Kingdom has a total tourist reception of 7.48 million in 2015, an annual increase of 36 percent. It not only boasts the largest tourist reception but also has the fastest increase in China.
