A Zhuhai-Dawanshan Island helicopter route was established on August 25, and the Zhuhai-Dong'ao Island service will open within September, jointly announced by China Southern Airlines Zhuhai Helicopter Branch and Asia Pacific General Aviation Development Co., Ltd on August 23.

Together with the Zhuhai-Wailingding Island service that opened last April, Zhuhai will thus have three island helicopter routes operating that is expected to greatly speed up the construction of the area as a "world-class island tourist destination."

The Zhuhai-Wailingding Island route takes only 15 minutes compared with the 70-minute boat trip. Yan Hong, party secretary of Wanshan Marine Development Experimental Zone of Zhuhai City said: "This is really attractive for individuals who regard time as gold. Wanshan Island has a promising island tourist prospect."

China Southern Airlines Zhuhai Helicopter Branch also plans to provide more services such as helicopter island sightseeing and helicopter fishing, enabling visitors to fully experience the beauty of the islands.

Currently, the three helicopter routes operate in one daily charter flight.

Zhuhai has a coastline of 604 kilometers, with 146 islands. Therefore, Zhuhai is also known as the "100-island city" in China.
