China.org.cn celebrated its 10th anniversary on October 12 with a seminar on "The Internet and International Communication."
Liu Yunshan of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Politburo, secretary of the Central Secretariat, and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, sent his congratulations. Wang Chen, director of the State Council Information Office, addressed the seminar.
In his message to the seminar, Liu praised China.org.cn for following Deng Xiaoping Theory, the Three Represents and the Scientific Outlook on Development. He said the website combined a correct orientation with an innovative approach to communication, and is playing an important role in presenting China to the world.

Wang Chen said that in the era of globalization, the media, and especially websites, are playing an ever more prominent role, and China needs to enhance its multi-language, multi-media communication platforms. He said China.org.cn should enrich its content, engage with social issues, take a scientific approach, and help the world to understand China better.
Zhou Mingwei, President of China International Publishing Group (CIPG), gave a keynote speech at the seminar.
