China and Kyrgyz stressed the need to coordinate their efforts in
the fight against terrorists in a joint press communique issued in
Beijing Sunday.
The communique was jointly issued by Chinese Foreign Minister Tang
Jiaxuan and Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Muratbek Sansyzbayevich
Yimanaliyev who made a working visit to China from November 22
through 25.
The two sides affirmed the need to accelerate the process of
establishing the legal base and operational mechanism of the
Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). And in this regard the two
countries will join efforts to push for the early formulation of
the SCO Charter and the early setup of Bishkek anti-terrorist
institution.
The two sides also voiced the determination to cooperate in the
fight against separatism and extremism on both bilateral and
multilateral levels.
The two sides held the United Nations and its Security Council
should play an active role in restoring peace and stability in
Afghanistan. They called for the earliest possible establishment of
an Afghan government that is broadly based, representing the
interest of all ethnic groups and friendly to all neighboring
countries.
The two sides agreed that the resolution on the issue of borders
between China and Kyrgyz will be conducive to the development of
the friendly bilateral relations.
