Adjust font size:
One entity called "Eastern Turkistan Islamic Movement" has been added to the United Nations list of al-Qaeda and the Taliban, and other individuals, groups and entities associated with them, a UN spokesman said Wednesday.

The spokesman told a press briefing that an individual named Wa'el Hamza Julaidan was also added to the list.

The list is being compiled by the UN Security Council committee on sanctions against al-Qaeda, Taliban and associates, established pursuant to resolution 1267 adopted in 1999.

The "Eastern Turkistan Islamic Movement" is part of the international terrorist network and has carried out a large number of violent terror attacks both inside and outside China.
