Situation in Middle East Worrying: FM Spokesman

China said Sunday that the tense situation between Israel and Palestine is worrying, urging concerned sides to cherish the fruits from previous peace talks and push forward the peace process in the Middle East region.

 

Foreign Ministry spokesman Kong Quan made this remark while asked to comment on the resignation of Palestinian Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas.

 

Change in the Palestinian political situation is the internal affairs of Palestine, Kong said.

 

Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat have officially accepted the resignation request presented on Saturday by Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas, Palestinian official sources said.
