US Donation Helps Flood-relief Efforts in Shaanxi
Adjust font size:

Clark T. Randt, US ambassador to China, donated US$100,000 to flood victims in northwest China's Shaanxi Province in the name of the US government via the China Red Cross Society (CRCS) Wednesday.

CRCS vice-president Sun Aiming received the money.

Continuous rain has caused severe flooding in a number of counties and prefectures in Shaanxi since Aug. 28, affecting millions of people.

Randt said he hoped the money would help flood victims return to their normal lives.

Two American pupils from Beijing's Western Academy for overseas students also raised money to help students in flood-stricken areas in Shaanxi.

Sun said this move showed the sympathy of the American people and the friendship between the people of the two countries.
