China's dynamic duo, Zheng Jie and Yan Zi, has made to the third
round at the Wimbledon Grand Slam after knocking out a ninth-seeded
Swiss/Aussie mixed double with 6-4, 4-6 and 6-4.
This is the second time the pair has booked a position in the
last 16 at a Grand Slam tournament, following their performance at
the Australian Open in January.
Since Sun Tiantian and Li Ting were eliminated, the Zheng/Yan
team has remained China's only hope in the all-England club.
The pair broke early in Game One of the first set and clinched
the set with 6-4. But they lost the initiative in the second set
when their counterpart revived from a 4-2 down to a 6-4 win.
In the decider, the Chinese rallied, breaking the stalemate
first in game three and taking advantage of the chance to rack up
the final victory with another 6-4.
