China's Health Ministry said on Friday that it has received
no reports of epidemic outbreaks from flooded areas on the Chinese
mainland so far.
The ministry said it has conducted thorough analyses of epidemic
outbreaks nationwide this year, and disease prevention measures
have been put in place.
During this year's flood season, floods, mountain torrents and
landslide hit several provinces and autonomous regions including Hunan,
Yunnan,
Henan
and Guangxi.
The Health Ministry said daily epidemic monitoring reports are
received from the disease prevention and control centers (CDC) at
the provincial level and the CDCs in the flood areas have enhanced
monitoring to epidemic diseases and emergent public health
events.
Meanwhile, the ministry said it has established two medical
teams consisting of experts from Beijing, Tianjin, Shandong,
Shanghai and Guangdong.
The medical teams, equipment and medicine are all ready and will
be dispatched to the flood affected areas immediately when needed,
the ministry said.
