James Soong, chairman of Taiwan's People First Party (PFP), will
visit the mainland from May 5 to 12, Xinhua News Agency reported
official sources as confirming yesterday.
Under an arrangement made by the Taiwan Work Office (TWO) of the
Communist Party of China Central Committee and the PFP, Soong is
expected to visit Xi'an, Nanjing, Shanghai, Changsha and
Beijing.
On April 24, Chen Yunlin, director of the TWO, met with Chin
Chin-sheng, secretary general of the PFP, and exchanged views on
the relationship between the two parties and the arrangements for
Soong's
mainland tour.
