Greece and China on Friday signed a protocol of sports
cooperation on training, technology and doping issues, and pledged
to share volunteer and Olympic Truce expertise ahead of the Beijing
2008 Games, the Greek culture ministry said in a statement.
The protocol was signed by Greek Sports Minister George Orfanos and
his Chinese counterpart Liu Peng, minister of the General
Administration of Sports and president of the Chinese Olympic
Committee.
After a meeting with China's State Councilor Chen
Zhili, Greek alternate culture minister Fani Palli-Petralia
also announced the creation of a bilateral committee on Olympic
cooperation to share Greek experience from the Athens 2004
Games.
The cooperation is expected to focus on Games organization,
volunteer and Olympic Truce issues, Petralia said.
