Liu
Yunshan, head of the Department of Publicity of the Communist
Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, Wednesday called for more
efforts to depict "real China" for overseas people.
Liu, also a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central
Committee and a member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central
Committee, delivered a speech at a national meeting attended by
heads of central and provincial publicity departments.
He said that Chinese media should learn more real demands of
overseas readers and provide more home news in line with the
internationally accepted practice.
"Chinese media need to change their writing style. We should
have our own well-known journalists with good reputation in the
world, " said Liu.
Liu said that Chinese governmental departments should strengthen
the cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries like
"China-France Culture Year" while providing more cultural products
with Chinese characteristics in the international markets through
cooperation with international organizations.
