China will return a batch of donations from the United States to
China, Beijing Evening News reported Thursday.
The three containers of these donations entered China via
Tianjin Port and were sent respectively to Anhui Province in east
China, and Hebei Province and the national capital Beijing in north
China.
One of the container arrived in Beijing on November 4.
Some of the medical apparatuses and instruments could not be
used past 1998 and some were found to have passed their
probationary period after three checks in November by the State
Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of
China and Beijing Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, the
paper said.
Dirty quilts and messy clothes were also included, the paper
said.
Meanwhile, the Anhui Provincial Charity Association disclosed
that the donations to that province were also shoddy after
inspections from November 9 to 11.
