The municipal government of Xiamen, a coastal city in east
China's
Fujian Province, has recently issued a new policy to pave the
way for Taiwan students graduating from mainland colleges to find a
job in the city, Xinhua News Agency reported today.
The Taiwan graduates will get an "employment and residence card"
after they obtain a diploma from any mainland university.
Meanwhile, they will also enjoy relevant policies favorable for
their work and stay in the city.
"The new policy is sure to attract more talented people from
Taiwan," said Lai Zongli, general manager of a Taiwan-funded
company in Xiamen, which has 90 percent of its employees from the
island province.
The new policy is also applicable for residents from Hong Kong and Macao
special administrative regions, said the local government.
