CONEXPO Asia 2006, organized by the Association of Equipment
Manufacturers (AEM), is set to be held in Beijing between May 15
and 18, introducing global leading construction industry suppliers
to the fast-growing Chinese market.
Sources with the Beijing office of AEM said Saturday that
CONEXPO Asia will showcase manufacturers of equipment, products and
services related to the construction industry in Asia.
By this week, more than 180 domestic and overseas construction
industry suppliers, including Caterpillar, Arcelor Steel and
Cummins Engine Co., have registered to the exhibition, with nearly
half participants from overseas.
The CONEXPO Asia will also feature an industry-focused
educational program, in addition to exhibits of the latest
technology and product innovations.
The CONEXPO has got the support of leading Chinese industry
groups such as China Chamber of Commerce of Import and Export of
Machinery and Electronic Products (CCCME) and the Transport
Technology Exchange Center (TTEC) under the Chinese Ministry of
Communications.
The AEM is an international trade and business development
resource for companies that manufacture equipment, products and
services used worldwide in the construction, agricultural, mining,
forestry and utility industries.
In November 1997, the AEM opened its first overseas branch
office in Beijing to help members effectively do business in the
promising China market.
