It was a gold-medal spree for China at the FINA Diving Grand
Prix in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, which ended on Sunday.
On the last day of competition, the Chinese won the men's
platform, the women's 3-meter springboard and the synchronized
men's platform events, in addition to gold medals for all five
previous events.
Huo Liang won China's first title of the day on the men's
platform, scoring 538.75 points. Britain's Peter Waterfield rallied
from last place to take the silver (519.40) with three big-scoring
last dives, including a back twist and an inward 3. Lin Yue of
China (513.55) finished third.
Huo teamed with Lin to win the men's synchronized platform event
with 471.42 points. Russians Konstantin Khanbekov and Oleg Vikulov
(436.50) finished second, and Americans David Boudia and Thomas
Finchum (410.10) were third.
Li Ting collected 365.60 points to edge out Wu Minxia (364.35)
for the women's 3-meter gold, while Canada's Blythe Hartley
(364.20) was third.
