Adjust font size:

Under discussion on Sunday were Genghis Khan and his empire -- founded 800 years ago -- with China's leading think tank hosting scholars of Mongolian history from around the world.

More than 50 well known historians and social scientists presented their latest findings on his transcontinental empire at the International Symposium on Genghis Khan and the Founding of the Mongolian Empire organized by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS).

Chinese scholars said honest and objective views on Genghis Khan and his empire were conducive to scientific research on this important historical period. They welcomed exchanges of views with their Mongolian, Russian and Japanese counterparts.

Historians believe the powerful Mongolian empire was significant inĀ helping create the modern world. China is rich in research on Genghis Khan and the Mongolian Empire with a lot of material based on the legendary Secret History of the Mongols.

The CASS Center of Mongolian Studies gave an insight at the symposium into the research carried out by Chinese scholars on Genghis Khan topics, the Proud Son of Heaven and Man of Great Achievements.
