An exhibition aimed at promoting well-known Chinese brand names
opened Friday in Los Angeles, the largest city on the west coast of
the United States, and will last four days.
The China Brand Show showcases around 100 goods from China's
most famous companies, including electronics, textiles, clothing
and other consumer products.
The 4 day show in the South Hall of the Los Angeles Convention
Center is the largest of its kind in the US, covering 4,000 square
meters.
Officials from the Chinese Commerce Ministry, the exhibition
sponsor, said the show could help domestic companies raise their
awareness of the role brand names play in the international
market.
They also hope the show will encourage Chinese enterprises to
invest more on research and development, and boost foreign trade,
which previously relied on the manufacturing sector for growth.
