A delegation of US journalists arrived in Beijing on Tuesday to
gain a deeper understanding of China and of the country's
development, according to China's Foreign Ministry. The visit will
also include China's southern Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
The delegation, organized by the Better Hong Kong Foundation,
comprises nine senior editors and reporters from US media,
including, USA Today, the Wall Street Journal Asia,
Foreign Policy magazine.
Greeting the visitors, Assistant Foreign Minister He Yafei
expressed his hope that the visit would promote understanding and
foster positive feelings and contribute to the sound development of
bilateral ties.
China and the US shared stability and peace around the world and
that both powers should resolve disputes cooperatively, building a
strong relationship.
He also answered questions on China's peaceful development,
China-Japan relations as well as the Iran nuclear issue, the Middle
East peace process and other major international issues.
