Greece on Tuesday launched its new tourism campaign abroad for 2007, with "Explore Your Senses in Greece" as the main slogan.
"The basic target for 2007 is for Greece's publicity message to reach one billion recipients around the world, directly or indirectly," Tourism Minister Fani Palli Petralia told a news conference.
"In 2007, Greece aims to achieve a rise in tourist arrivals even greater than the 10 percent figure for 2006 when visitors topped 15 million for the first time," the minister noted.
This year's budget for the campaign is 40 million euros (US$51.6 million), including the spending for participation in about 100 international trade fairs and other events in sports, trade and the arts.
Plans also include strategic alliances with global publications such as the New York Times, Spiegel and Forbes.
According to the minister, CNN International will host more than 4,800 Greek tourism commercials.
