Chrysler will start selling a new Chrysler 300C model in China
at the end of March, company sources said on Tuesday.
Chrysler Group, which is struggling to cope with declining sales
in the United States, has been expanding vigorously in China. It
introduced locally-produced 2.7L, 3.5L and 5.7L versions of the
Chrysler 300C last November.
The upcoming model is the basic 300C 2.7L version, sources said
without indicating the price.
The company has sold over 5,000 units of the 300C in China since
November, a robust performance that gave the line to gloomy
forecasts.
Upgraded 300C 2.7L, 3.5L and 5.7L models will also hit the
Chinese market but the timetable has not yet been decided, sources
said.
Apart from the 300C series and PT Cruiser introduced to China
recently, Chrysler will unveil its famous Dodge this year,
according to Simon Elliott, president and chief executive of
Chrysler (China) Auto Sales.
