At least 34 passengers have confirmed injured in an accident of Indonesian's flag carrier Garuda Indonesia, Antara news agency reported.
The injured passengers have been rushed to near hospitals and the there is no reports of fatality, said the report.
The Boeing 737-400 plane crashed and exploded at Adi Sucipto airport in Yogyakarta at 7.08 local time on Wednesday morning.
"The ill-fated plane from Jakarta skidded off the runway, crashed onto an embarkment and exploded," Adi Sucipto airport operation manager Gatot Sugiantoro was quoted as saying.
He said some 10 people, including Muhammadiyah chairman Dien Syamsuddin, escaped unharmed through the emergency door while the other passengers were trapped inside the burning jetliner.
