Huawei Technologies topped the country's domestic enterprises in
terms of income generated from software business in 2006, reporting
29.778 billion yuan (US$3.9 billion).
Huawei was followed by ZTE with 13.44 billion yuan and Haier
with 8.106 billion yuan.
The result was jointly released by the National Bureau of
Statistics and Ministry of Information Industry (MII) on Wednesday
along with a list of top 100 software companies.
Others among the top ten are Digital China, Zhejiang-based
INSIGMA Technology, Panda Electronics Group Company Ltd., Founder
Group, Tsinghua Tongfang, Alcatel Shanghai Bell, and Langchao
Electronic Information Industry Co. Ltd.
Among the 100 top companies, 12 enjoyed a profit margin of more
than 20 percent, and 35 companies secured a profit margin of more
than 10 percent, said an MII official.
The total revenue of the top 100 software enterprises reached
143.76 billion yuan in 2006, up 27.5 percent over the previous
batch of top 100, and accounted for 30 percent of the total revenue
of domestic software industry.
Business revenue of the top ten software enterprises took up
54.5 percent of the total from the top 100.
