Hong Kong International Airport saw a 7.5 percent rise in passenger in May compare with the same period of last year, to 3.81 million, the Airport Authority said on Monday.
According to the figure released by the authority, boosted by busy traffic, aircraft movements grew 6.5 percent year-on-year to 24,760 flights over the month. Cargo throughput also grew 3.7 percent to 294,000 tons, resulting from a rebound in demand for export shipments.
Passenger throughput for the past 12 months grew 7.8 percent to 45.6 million while cargo throughput rose 2.7 percent to 3.59 million tons. Aircraft movements rose 4.2 percent to 285,000 flights.
