The donation came from a small charity auction held by Jeff Chang in Hong Kong on September 10.

According to sohu.com, one of China's popular websites, the money went to the Chinese Red Cross Foundation. The money, along with 240,000 yuan raised at another charity performance in July, will be designated for constructing hospitals in the flood-hit areas.

The July charity performance was jointly initiated by sohu.com and the Chinese Red Cross Foundation. Although Jeff Chang was absent at the performance as he was recording in Taiwan, but he was among the first group of performing stars to get involved in charitable activities, publishing an online diary urging assistance for flood victims.
